A heart shaped flash drive attached to a lanyard is presented to each open heart patient upon discharge from the Cardiothoracic Intensive Care Unit. The flash drive contains the patient’s medical records, which includes:

• Cardiac catheterization report
• Cardiac catheterization pictures
• Operative report
• Heart diagram with bypassed areas marked
• Discharge summary
• Exercise and dietary recommendations

The flash drive allows the patient to access this information from any computer and enables them to review their information with their family and health care providers.
